Plot integration, Addition of a three-storey office building with Solar Terrace & four basements

About the project
The main part of the project concerns the construction of a new three-storey wing office building, functionally independent from the existing one, with a total floor area of 3025,41 m², including an extension with four basements, and the surrounding area of the plot.
Shaped in a common morphology with the existing one, the two buildings will be independently functional with separate accesses, and E/M facilities. However, a functional connection is provided at the ground floor level of the new addition to the first-floor level of the existing, and at the basement level by reconstructing the existing ramp in a new layout. An intermediate connecting bridge is provided at each level for the convenience of workers in the building. The new office wing will also feature fitness center(gym) in the first basement and a restaurant-café area for employees on the ground floor.
The new building includes the development of a solar atrium, which contributes to energy efficiency as a bioclimatic element, extends from the level of the first basement to the roof of the second floor and is planted on two levels (ground floor and first basement). On the roof of the second floor the atrium is covered with double glazing with opening skylights that will allow ventilation and night cooling in the summer months. In addition, the atrium will have adjustable external shading. The roof is planted, which enhances the bioclimatic character of the project. A biophilic design is being pursued in the new building, which is part of the overall pursuit of dual environmental certification (LEED & WELL). The installation of PV panels on the roof and on two vehicle canopies is foreseen at the northeast corner of the site. The new facades will be designed using materials and colors similar to the existing facades, so that the new and existing buildings is blend harmoniously with its surroundings.
