Ikos Olivia Resort

The project included the reconstruction of the main building, two level bungalows and restaurants, the reconstruction and extension of the Ikos Olivia (formerly Gerakina Beach Resort) resort complex in the Municipality of Polygiros, coast of Gerakini/Halkidiki. Apart from the full refurbishment of existing Main building and bungalows, the program also included construction of new bungalow units with private swimming pools, construction of 4,000m2 of new public pools, a new SPA and indoor/outdoor pools, and reconstruction of 4 separate restaurants. Works related to the extensive landscaping and outdoor infrastructure (roads, parking, networks, etc), Waste Water Treatment plant and athletic facilities were also undertaken.
Focal provided Project Management services, which included closed tenders for the selection of consultants, design management, coordination for the issuance of permits by the Greek Tourism Authority and Buildings Planning Authority, budgeting, detailed construction cost breakdown, support to consultants handling state subsidies through the development law and successful approval thereof, as well as tendering and awarding of initial work packages. In addition, Construction Management services were provided, which included on site quality control, quantity survey and estimating, change order management, coordination with FF&E suppliers, contractor’s payments management, testing and commissioning. Overall schedule monitoring was also undertaken.
