Full refurbishment of a historic listed building in the heart of Thessaloniki
About the project
The project concerns the full refurbishment of the historic listed building “Megaro Loggou” in the heart of Thessaloniki, monitored by the Directorate of Conservation of Ancient and Modern Monuments.
Works included the preservation of all painted ceilings, internal doors, marble staircases, metal and wooden elements and full façade restoration. Works included extended demolitions & construction reinforcement, thermo-insulation for efficiency upgrade as well as additional technical infrastructure and architectural finishes to meet the advanced requirements of new offices.
During pre-construction period Focal cooperated with the Designers for the issuance of the Building permits & licences and assisted at the selection of detailed design consultants.
Project Management tasks involved budgeting, overall schedule monitoring, detailed construction cost breakdown, tender and awarding of initial work packages. Focal also undertook construction management of demolition and reinforcement works, on site quality control, quantity survey and contractor’s payments certification management.
In cooperation with the design architects and the Directorate of Conservation of Ancient and Modern Monuments, Focal monitored and supervised the full conservation of all restored elements and coordinated the overall interior design to deliver a modern, high technology and breath-taking office building.
