Senior Cost Manager, Athens

Overview:

FOCAL PM is currently seeking for a Senior Cost Manager to lead the Company’s cost consulting team for a major capital Project in Athens, Greece.

Key accountabilities:

Setting up a Cost methodology in accordance with RICS New Rules of Measurement, i.e. NRM 1, 2 & 3, Masterformat, Uniformat
Ensuring that accurate BOQs are produced, reviewing and finalizing quantities in a BIM environment.
Leading the estimating effort, producing and taking responsibility of the final cost plan, including Cash Flow projections.
Reviewing the Design at all Design phases, collaborating with the Design team and external Consultants and advising on Design efficiency issues.
Exploring value engineering options and identifying scope creep.
Identifying and constantly updating cost related risks.
Issuing regular Cost Reports for the Client.
Managing the cost consulting team, effectively interfacing with the Client, the Company’s Directors, the Design team and external Consultants.
Advising the Client on the procurement strategy.
Assisting in tender documents preparation and issuing a Tender Report for the Client.
Assisting Client’s negotiations with the preferred bidders in cost related issues.
Analyzing and evaluating Contractor’s change orders and Claims.
Monitoring Project Budget including Cash Flow projections.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture.
RICS accreditation desirable.
At least 15 years of experience, including 3 years relevant experience in the cost management of major capital Projects.
BIM technology knowledge.
Deep knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement strategies, value management, value engineering, construction sequencing, capabilities of local and international Contractors and Suppliers etc.
Ability to work under pressure meeting tight deadlines.
Ability to work in a diverse team environment.
Fluent English (written and spoken).
